For the night- Pa la noche

So, if you’ve had a crazy-fun day at work, why not have a crazy-fun night. I’ll let you determine what a crazy-fun night means to you, wink wink! But, when i get home and i see the light plates that i painted i feel so proud. Its very easy and inexpensive to make these. All you need is light plates from any hardware store, then you coat the front part of the plate with mod podge, and once its dried you add your creation. I started out simple, then i got all these images. The funny animal is my squirrel. That’s another story to tell in another post. Oh and im not a pro, if that motivates you. I started crafting this year, and i love it.

 

Things you will need:

Light switch plates (i got mine for less than a buck)

Mod podge

acrylic paint (you can use cheap once to start)

Cascarones Mexicanos

Belated Happy Easter,

 

I had forgotten about the cascarones mexicanos i had made for Easter, until yesterday night when my father gave my son a “limpia” (cleanse) with an egg. The egg cleanse aides in  getting rid of negative energy, physical pain or illness. My son had a very painful ear infection, and we proceeded as usual, called the doctor and gave him the prescribed medicine. But while we got him the medicine, he just wouldn’t stop crying and it was late at night. Luckily, my father was there with us and he ran an egg over his entire body, saying some prayers, and then broke the egg in a glass of water. The huevo cleanse is a tradition that is followed by many to help in removing pain or negative vibes. I honestly didn’t believe in this, but after my father gave him the cleanse he stopped crying. I know, i know.. Thought i would share aside from the beautiful casacrones that i made. Below are the supplies you need to make the cascarones:

 

Real Eggs (  drained and with a small hole at the bottom)

Mod Poge (Once egg is clean from the inside, and i cover the hole with wax paper, i add a top of modpodge)

Acrylic Paint (once modpodge is dry, i paint, add rhinestones, and picture)

Mexican jewelry display

 

If you wear a ton of jewelry like me,  a DIY jewelry display holder is the perfect craft for you. I decorated it to have a  Mexican theme, with calaveras and bright colors. And now that i have the display next to my bed, I wear all of my earrings.  It’s a great DIY craft idea if you have all your earrings piled in your drawer or just lying around and always wear the same earrings most of the time.  This would happen to me all the time. These all the materials you need:

 

Chicken wire (i bought it at home depot and i paid around $5)

Any size frame (i got mine at a thrift store for $2)

Upholstery Stapler (i bought mine at hobby lobby for $12 w/the 40% off coupon) you can reuse the stapler it for other projects
